I returned to the states shortly after graduation in 1962.  My father had been assigned to Norton AFB in California.  I spent some time at Valley College and went to work on the base.  I met my husband (Webmasters Note: Sherrie's Husband's Name is George) at Norton and we were married in 1964.  We have 4 wonderful children and 6 grandchildren (a 7th due in Nov 2001).  Our oldest daughter now 36, (I hate to admit that age) was born while we were stationed at Norton.  We transferred to Hill AFB and our only son now 34 was born.  Shortly after our son was born my husband got out of the Air Force and we moved to Cape Kennedy, FL for a brief stint with the Apollo Space Program.  After the Apollo disaster my husband was asked if he would return to Hill AFB and work for TRW Systems.  Once again in the missile business we returned to Utah and had our last two daughters now 28 and 23.  20 years ago my husband returned to the Space Program and we moved to Houston, TX.  I preety much was a stay at home Mom but along the way I became a Certified Pharmacy Technician and went to work.  I liked the work but hated the long hours and recently retired and became a stay at home wife.  We celebrated with a brief cruise and plan to travel more and work less.

I always where a hat and rubber boots!

I lived in Marcelo Germany, and Italy and certainly would never have had those options without the Air Force. But do to the age thing, I guess, Wiesbaden was always where I felt connected....the E.T. heart glow thing!! Only regrets are that I didn't get all out of the travel experiences that I could have again due to the age thing, huh?  Have lots of pictures to share if I can ever find them.  ( I am not very good at domestic type things, by choice!!!)  Anyway...as I am the designated family photographer, aren't very many pictures of me, but look the same except for some added weight, the wrinkles.  Anyway, attended Oklahoma State and married Doug C. beginning of junior year.  Got enough hours for a masters in English but never wrote the dumb thesis (as you can obviously tell by my writting!)    I wanted to teach but discovered I didn't like kids....a very big problem for a teacher.  I think I could have easily become a professional student.  Anyway have been in this area (middle of MO about 20 miles above the Arkansas line) for 26 years.  Live out in hte boonies and raise hay and cows.  I love it!!! (Town is 15 miles away, the county seat, with a population of 600!)  Spend all of my time outside just enjoying and wandering about the property.  Oh, have two great children and finally a marvelous (of course!) 2 year old grandson.  So that's my little life.  I am sitting on the front porch right now, it's 58' degrees and I am waiting for Linda (Merrell)  Williams to call....

After graduation I remained in Germany until 1964, met my future husband Frank, and moved to San Francisco.  I have 2 sons, 34 and 28, 1 daughter 32, plus 2 grandsons.  We were married 23 years when Frank died in 1988.  After living in Oregon and Colorado during this time, I returned to my hometown area near Seattle. For the past 10 years, I have been the Property Manager for the primary shopping center in my town.  I am active in community affairs and enjoy developing my creative interests in the areas of knitting, gardening, sewing and reading.  I currently share my home with 2 very large cats in Kingston, WA and am looking forward to some exciting changes with the new gentleman in my life and I love this web site!

Three weeks after graduation we left Germany to Wichita Falls, TX. While there I meet Lt. David Donaldson who became my husband. Several years later our son was born in Denver. After Dave’s tour in Viet Nam we returned to Wiesbaden where our daughter was born. We enjoyed 5 years there, living on the same street (Westfallen Str) and Dave worked at 497th where my father worked. After retiring from the Air Force we were fortunate enough to return back to Stuttgart, Germany, after which we returned back to Virginia for several years. Again we were fortunate enough to return back to Germany, this time Ramstein for several years. While there our daughter graduated from Ramstein High School. From Ramstein we returned to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1988. Dave developed cancer and passed away in April 1992. I still live in CO where I enjoying our son, Keith and his kids who also live here. Our daughter, Denise lives in San Francisco. If you are in Colorado Springs please give me a call, would love to see you.

After Wiesbaden, I spent 4 fun-filled years earning a BA in Psychology at Penn State. This immediately qualified me to become a computer programmer for DOD in DC for 3 1/2 years. My career path changed again when I obtained an MA in social work from the U. of Chicago. While there I also acquired my best friend and love, Donald, a Brit who had emigrated to the US for a few years of business experience. In our 28 years together, we have lived in New York, Canton, OH, and Pittsburgh, PA.. He has always been involved in business while I have served as a research asst on an adolescent drug survey, have taught courses in Social Problems and Women's Issues,  have been a project director on a study of the elderly in nursing homes, served (since 1994) as the lab director of the Smoking Research Group at the U. of Pittsburgh and have always been a full time mother. Our son, Keith (Penn State, '98) lives and works in Dc; our daughter Alexa, is a junior at Indiana Univ but is presently studying (I hope) abroad in Australia!

Connie Pajot (Whitcomb)

  conwhitcomb@msn.com

Graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in German and English. Married an AF JAG. Taught High School for one year. (As you can imagine, this did not suit my rebellious nature) I was a stay-at-home mom with my daughter, Kelly, for 12 years of AF assignments. Feeling the need to be a free spirit in the "Land of Enchantment" I went my own way for 7 years, working as a government travel agent, partying, country-western dancing, traveling and raising a teenager. Kelly graduated from TCU and SMU (graduate school) and is now Chief of Revenue and Budgeting for the American Heart Association.. I was married to the love of my life for four short years when he passed away. I am now retired from federal service and love having my time to myself again. I enjoy playing tennis, aerobic dancing, traveling (adore sailing in the BVI), and OASIS classes. These things coupled with some volunteer work keep me more than busy.
